FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Everything you need to know about PPF, vehicle wrapping, ceramic coating and window tinting.

Paint Protection Film (PPF) is a clear, self-healing thermoplastic urethane film applied to the painted surfaces of a vehicle. It provides a near-invisible layer of protection against stone chips, road debris, minor scratches and environmental contaminants — preserving the original factory finish underneath.

XPEL PPF has a self-healing top coat — minor swirls and light scratches in the film surface will disappear when exposed to heat, either from the sun or warm water. This keeps the film looking pristine without any intervention needed.

XPEL PPF comes with a 10-year manufacturer warranty, covering yellowing, cracking, peeling, staining and delamination. With proper care, the film can protect your vehicle for well over a decade.

Standard XPEL clear PPF is virtually invisible once installed. It maintains the original gloss finish of your paintwork. If you'd like a different finish, XPEL Stealth PPF transforms gloss paint to a satin finish, and XPEL Colour PPF allows you to change the colour while protecting the paint underneath.

Yes, PPF can be safely removed by a professional installer without damaging the paintwork underneath — provided the paint is in good condition and properly cured. This is one of the major advantages of PPF over other paint modification methods.

We offer Front End Protection (from £1,600), Extended Front End Protection (from £2,000) and Full Vehicle Protection (from £4,000). Stealth PPF is priced the same as standard clear PPF. Colour PPF is bespoke — contact us for a quote. Ceramic coating can be added to any PPF or wrap package for £350.

A professionally installed wrap using premium vinyl typically lasts 5–7 years with good care. The lifespan depends on factors including climate, how the vehicle is used and how it's washed and maintained.

No — a correctly installed and removed wrap will not damage factory paintwork in good condition. In fact, wraps protect the paint underneath from UV and minor surface abrasion. The key is using premium materials and having the wrap installed and removed professionally.

A full colour change wrap typically takes 3–5 days depending on the vehicle and complexity. Partial wraps and accents are quicker. We'll give you a specific timeframe when we quote for your job.

In most cases, yes — and it's actually a popular choice for leased vehicles because the wrap protects the factory paint and can be removed before returning the car. We always recommend checking your lease agreement first.

UK law requires front side windows to allow at least 70% of light through, and the windscreen at least 75%. Rear windows and rear windscreens have no legal restriction. Our team will always advise on the correct shade for each window to keep your vehicle road legal.

XPEL window tint comes with a lifetime manufacturer warranty covering fading, bubbling and peeling. This is one of the best warranties available in the industry.

Most vehicles can be completed in half a day. We'll give you an accurate estimate when you book — it depends on the number of windows and whether pre-cut patterns are available for your vehicle.

Rear window tinting starts from £100 for a 3-door hatchback up to £200 for a large SUV. Adding front windows costs £100 standalone or just £60 when combined with a rear package. Ceramic tint is also available — contact us for a tailored quote on that.
